Roddy began studying yoga in 1975. Her daily practice began the next year and continues to this day. She has been teaching for eleven years.
Roddy was studied with many teachers in Ann Arbor and elsewhere in the US, Canada and New Zealand. Most of her training has been in the Iyengar tradition. She gives special credit to Barbara Linderman and Karen Ufer for guiding her on her yoga path.
Roddy’s style is one of warmth and creativity. She believes that each student brings a unique body, mind, and spirit to yoga, and she enjoys teaching students of all ages and abilities.
Roddy’s level 1-2 class emphasizes principles of alignment and core strength which translate to healthy postures for students on and off the yoga mat. Roddy also loves teaching Friday Morning Wake Up yoga, a series of flowing postures to music created by Barbara Linderman. Through this practice of yoga, students increase their strength and flexibility, calm their minds and deepen their spirits.
